Imagine if we could focus a large proportion of our time and efforts into those activities that once completed have a lasting positive impact on our lives and the lives of others. Consider what you could achieve if you dedicated yourself to the building blocks of adding value.
In our personal and business lives we create structure and routines that can serve or burden us. Our esteem and our energy is a determinant of the choices we make every day. We can choose to feed ourselves through activities that energize us and make us better people, or alternatively we can choose activities that drain us of energy and deplete our esteem.
If the sum of the positive and negative activities that make up your personal weekly routine amount to a loss then your health and character are in decline. This can happen over a week, a month or for some people even years. The beauty of this is that once you isolate and balance the items that do not ultimately serve you, you can then take action to re-engineer your routine so that it adds value to you week after week.
Be careful to examine every activity carefully, it may be that some activities while uncomfortable in the short term, hold massive rewards in the long term. And remember it is not just the management of routine items that will make a difference in your life, a positive routine is best complimented by the addition of new experiences that challenge you to grow as a person.
